Program Details

The Junior Aviator Program offers a meticulously crafted curriculum tailored for children between the ages of 7 and 12. Our program is thoughtfully divided into three progressive stages: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each stage spans one year and integrates in-depth ground theory lessons with interactive, hands-on learning experiences. Participants will also benefit from guided individual flight simulator sessions utilizing the esteemed Cessna 172 flight simulator.

 

Our program is dedicated to fostering a holistic and captivating educational journey for young aviation enthusiasts. By igniting their passion for aviation, we aim to cultivate a strong foundation that will inspire future pursuits in this dynamic field. We firmly believe that early exposure and nurturing in aviation are pivotal in shaping a child’s developmental journey.

Exciting Introduction to Aviation: The curriculum offers an exciting introduction to the world of aviation, covering the rich history of flight, the theory of flight, and the fascinating role of aviators.

Practical Skills Development: Students will have the opportunity to develop practical skills through activities such as pre-flight inspection checklists, aircraft startup and shutdown procedures, and understanding the effects of controls during flight training.

Local Relevance: With a focus on Singapore's aviation history and unique aerodrome markings, the program offers a localized perspective that resonates with our community.

Career Exploration: Students will gain valuable insights into diverse aviation careers, including the operation of control towers, the dynamics of airport runways, and the development of aircraft engines.

Foundation for Future Enthusiasts: By providing an overview of primary and secondary flight controls, gyroscopic systems, pitot static instruments, and aircraft identification, the curriculum aims to lay a solid foundation for future aviation enthusiasts and professionals.

Advanced Flight Principles: The curriculum delves into advanced topics such as flight rules, airspace, aircraft systems, stalls, spins, engine failure procedures, and crew resource management, offering students a deeper understanding of aviation operations.

Practical Skill Development: Students will engage in hands-on training, mastering techniques such as turns, climbing and descending maneuvers, takeoffs, landings, and managing aircraft weight and balance.

Emotional and Functional Training: The program explores the emotional and functional aspects of piloting, equipping students with the skills to handle the psychological demands of flight and make effective decisions in challenging situations.

Comprehensive Flight Management: From understanding aircraft limitations to managing flight documents, equipment, and electrical systems, students will gain a thorough understanding of the operational and regulatory aspects of aviation.

Advanced Competence: By focusing on high and low-speed flight, propeller dynamics, engine failure scenarios, and aviation unit conversion and math, the curriculum aims to equip students with the advanced competence required for successful piloting and aircraft management.

In-Depth Exploration: The curriculum offers an in-depth examination of advanced aviation topics, including aviation incidents, atmospheric effects, weather-related accidents, and precautionary search and landing, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of complex aviation scenarios.

Advanced Flight Training: Students will engage in advanced flight training, mastering techniques such as basic and flapless circuits, slideslipping, steep turns, unusual attitudes, advanced takeoffs and landings, and flying low level, ensuring proficiency in challenging flight maneuvers.

Weather and Navigation Expertise: The program covers critical aspects of weather, including cloud formation, thunderstorms, weather forecasting, aircraft icings, and inclement weather conditions, along with advanced navigation communication, flight planning, and basic navigation skills.

Safety and Decision-Making: Students will develop expertise in forced landings, flight recap and briefing, and precautionary search and landing, equipping them with the skills to make informed decisions and ensure safety in challenging aviation conditions.
